Why Do We Have a Tabler of the Week?
We periodically interview one of our amazing co-workers to highlight on our culture blog. A great culture is 100% about the people that drive it. We come from different places, backgrounds, and experiences and all add a lot of spice to this workplace.
Tabler of the Week: Lauren Davis
Tabler Since: August 2015
Hails From: Baltimore, MD
Proud Alumni Of: Dickinson College (English) and Loyola College, MD (MA Ed. Leadership) **fun fact…both schools are Social Tables clients!
What is your role at Social Tables? Account Executive
What were you doing before you came to Social Tables? I was the Director of Admissions for USC School of Education through 2U (another DC-based start-up company that recently went public). I was employee number 4 in the “sales” department and stayed for 6.5 years and watched it grow from 20 to 800 employees and go from start-up to now a billion dollar company.
What do you like to do outside of work? Whoa tough question because I like to do as many different things as possible throughout the week and weekends. My interests vary from spending time with friends and family sprinkled throughout the DC and Baltimore areas to attending Ravens, Orioles, and Capitals home games. I also play golf with a fun energetic group of retired 70-80 year old ladies who keep me on my toes and provide me with many hilarious stories to share. I’m also a foodie, so anything related to finding new places to dine (and trying new beers/wines) around DC.
Talk about your favorite Core Value: I love team-based sports because it’s a collection of random individuals coming together to work together towards a common goal. Through working together in order to achieve a goal, you learn about your teammates and they become part of your friend/family circles. So the fact that I can work in an environment where “teams are families” and we all care for the successes of others as much as the success of the company is awesome and easily resonates with me.
Talk about your favorite Social Tables event: Pretty much every Friday’s Happy Hour is a favorite. I get to learn new things that our awesome product team is developing and a chance to catch up with coworkers.
What makes you weird? My family and I have traveled out of the country a lot since I was young, so I have created a weird tradition/routine when I fly. Tradition includes: buying a new book and M&Ms with peanuts in the airport prior to my flight, sitting on the aisle seat, and ordering tomato juice during the flight (it tastes better and a proven fact).
Cheers from Peers:
I believe you have a new day in Social Tables history with demos to close!!!! YOU ARE INCREDIBLE!
